It has been a whirlwind week! Our son, Zach, graduated from Marine Boot Camp on April 15. Being a Marine has been his dream since he was 5-6 years old, and now it is a reality. Not only did he complete everything, but he also received a meritorious promotion to Pfc!
It has been wonderful listening to the stories of what they went through. But the great part was attending Family Day, watching the motivational run, and seeing him in his dress uniform as they marched past us on the parade deck on the day of graduation. (Insert tears of joy and pride here.)
He will now go to the School of Infantry (SOI) for additional training, then be assigned to a base. We don't know where, and we don't know how long it will be before we see him again. As a parent, you know the day will come when they leave home and begin their own lives. His time is now, but it's still not easy letting go. I love you, Zach, and I am so proud of you !!!
